GESSNER expands meltblown capacities and develops material for community masks

|   Meltblown

Due to the current situation regarding the COVID 19 virus, GESSNER expanded the capacities for face mask materials at short notice in order to support the increasing demand by supplying meltblown for respiratory protection at the production site in Feldkirchen-Westerham, Germany.

GESSNER is currently continuously increasing the production of filter media NeenahGuard™ for surgical masks according to the BFE standard as well as FFP1, FFP2, FFP3 and P3 masks based on meltblown nonwovens.

In addition, GESSNER will convert other media production machines that are needed to combat the COVID 19 pandemic. The product will be a material for so-called community or everyday masks. Benefits of the material are the prevention of droplet infection, excellent strength properties and the possibility of a combination with different materials but it can also be used as a one layer.
