Our wetlaid products range from 100% cellulose, synthetic, or glass fibers, to a wide range of these fibers blended together as needed. Additionally, we offer a wide range of functionalized resin systems or Drylaid (fully synthetic) materials with fibers ranging from 250nm to 25μm- which can be incorporated on or offline using various bonding methods. Products become extremely versatile, fit for most Industrial applications. This along with over 50 years of filtration experience leads to superior products and performance.

Naltex™, Conwed™, and Delnet™ are used as a pleat support in different filter applications.
Naltex™ Diamond Netting - Customizable netting used to separate and pleat filter media to achieve specific performance requirements
Conwed™ Square Netting - Adds integrity to media whether used as a pleat support or as a pre-filter in normal flow applications
Delstar™ Composite Media - Multi-layer nonwoven that provide high dirt holding capacity and long life

Naltex™ rigid tubes provide strength and rigidity to protect delicate filtration media. Our extruded tubes are manufactured following the same process as our extruded netting.

Filter Media for Dedusting Filtration

In environments with high dust concentration the lifecycle of standard depth filter material is limited. Therefore, dedusting filter media needs very good surface filtration properties in order to reach the high performance requirements in lifetime (cleanability) and efficiency.

Gessner’s media are classified according to the efficiency standards EN779:2012 (F7 – F9) and ISO 16890 and tested according the VDI3926 regarding their lifetime (testing of cleanable filter media).

Due to high mechanical stability these media are designed for the pulse clean process and for high speed converting from roll goods into filters.

Different material set-up from fully synthetic to meltblown-paper combinations are available coming from the most modern machine park, with online quality control systems and width up to 2,5m.

Filter Media for Industrial Vacuum Cleaners

Filter media for industrial vacuum cleaners have to protect people and equipment from various types of dust in different dust concentrations. Gessner offers a complete product portfolio from polymeric nanofiber to microfiber, from flame retardant cellulose to PET spunbond and combinations thereof. Filter media can be finished hydrophobic or hydrophilic, depending on the end application.

Filter Media for EDM

Gessner’s media for EDM (spark erosion) machinery achieve the cleanliness level EDM machines need for good erosion results. Materials are designed for a long lifetime and good efficiency, ranging from 2µm to 25µm. The filter media is designed as surface filter material to ensure the precise separation of particles resulting in accurate productions. Resin systems or fiber composition are made to withstand high mechanical demands, even after weeks in dielectric liquids.

Filter Media for Welding Fumes

For filtration of welding fumes Gessner is offering different materials. High efficient combination media (paper- meltblown) up to F9 acc. to EN779:2012 can be used without any pretreatment and assure long lifetime. The efficiency ensures the proper protection of people and environment. Pure cellulosic materials with flame retardant resin system are used, as well as fully synthetic SMS materials.

Nettings for Pleat Support

Naltex™, Conwed™, and Delnet™

Our materials play a critical role in the performance of liquid filters.
Naltex™ Diamond Netting and Conwed™ Square Netting act as a pleat support within cartridge liquid filters. Featuring specialized, engineering-grade resins, our nets have unmatched performance in high-end aerospace and vehicle oil, hydraulic, and fuel filtration systems. Available in configurations that provide pleatability at ambient temperatures with low-melt medias.
Delnet™ Apertured Film provide the filter's internal pleat support and lamination layer.

Feed Spacers

Naltex™

Naltex™ feed spacers, a bi-planar mesh with thermally bonded strand intersections, is the most widely utilized net in the filtration industry for feed spacers. Specialized engineering-grade Naltex nets have unmatched performance in high-end filtration systems. Our premier line of Naltex Feed Spacers support and protect thin film composite (TFC) membranes in RO spiral wound element filters. Filtration manufacturers around the world seeking high performance feed spacers turn to our full line of custom designed diamond netting with varying geometries, specialty resins and optimal flow characteristics. Naltex Feed Spacers are used in nearly all TFC membrane filtration applications, ranging from HRO to municipal water and industrial process filtration.

Media for Photovoltaic

This media is used in both flexible and rigid PV panels. The benefits of our Craneglas® products were initially discovered by NASA in the early 1980’s. The Craneglas® 230 grade- sub weights 4.8, 6.1, and 11.0 have all been used at either the film manufacturer level or the panel manufacturers themselves. The substrate provides many benefits during the encapsulation and laminating processes; creating channels for air flow eliminating bubbles, stabilizing the EVA film to minimize shrinkage and overflow, providing structural stability for thin film flexible modules and prevents shorts caused by cell movement.

Media for environmental control

Our Craneglas® media is used as a substrate in both desiccant wheel dehumidification and evaporative cooling for commercial buildings and industrial settings. Gessner’s material is easily corrugated and adaptable to accommodate different corrugating techniques, has high resin pick-up and absorbency while maintaining sufficient wet strength during fabrication.

Aerospace composites

This media was developed to have high temperature resistance with a thermoplastic base, making it easy to mold. It has superior flame, smoke (ASTM E662) & toxicity (BSS 7239) ratings and are very lightweight.

Surface Veils

One of the initial uses for our Craneglas® 230 grades were in surface veils for various composite applications, from surf boards to cafeteria serving trays. The randomly dispersed fibers of Gessner’s wetlaid nonwoven produce a hydrophilic sheet with even wet-out, that is compatible with most resin systems. It can be easily printed on and its uniformity creates a functional aesthetic; which helps smooth out surfaces while adding durability, insulating characteristics, and corrosive resistance for many different composite applications including Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) products.

Battery Separator

Our Craneglas® 230 product line is made with short-cut/coarse E-glass fibers, which provide uniform fiber distribution and pore sizes perfectly suited for separators in both cylindrical and bobbin style primary batteries that use the Lithium-Thionyl Chloride chemistry for high-energy and high-voltage requirements in extreme temperatures.
