Is lignin filter media compatible with existing filtration systems?
Whether in liquid or air filtration, lignin-based filter media can be easily integrated into existing filter systems, regardless of the filter application.
The phenolic resin from conventional saturations can easily be replaced by lignin, as the lignin has no negative impact on the other components of the saturation or the filter medium. All chemical, thermal as well as mechanical properties and functionality of the cellulose filter media, the saturation and also in further processing remain the same.
What applications can lignin filter media be used in?
Our lignin-based resin saturation is used in various automotive applications, including engine air intake, oil, and fuel filtration. But the application is not limited to these - any cellulose filter media which is currently using phenolic resins can seamlessly transition to our lignin saturation.
Since the phenolic resin in the saturation of cellulose media is replaced by lignin resin without changing the properties of the medium or its saturation, the application areas remain unchanged. Any application of a cellulose filter medium, for which a phenolic-based saturation was previously used, can use a lignin-based media.
