Filter media for waste water applications, are known as depth filters. These filters are typically a pleated filter or a bag style filter. Pleated filters contain a support material, pleated media, and end caps or cages to hold the filter in place. The pleated media is made from a variety of materials. The filter works by trapping particles as water flows through it. As water flows through the filter media particles are removed resulting in cleaner water.
GESSNER offers many different types of filter media depending on the application and desired level of filtration. Different filter ratings such as micron size rating or absolute rating can be used to ensure the needed level of filtration. Depending on your needs different grades of media can be used with finer grades able to achieve higher levels of filtration than coarser grades but at a higher cost due to increased pressure drop across the system and shorter lifespans due to clogging with smaller particles.

Delpore meltblown medias also feature outstanding dirt holding capacity, allowing them to capture up to five times their own weight in solids before they must be replaced or cleaned. This makes them well-suited for use in municipal stormwater systems. In addition, the highly efficient design ensures that filter changes are quick and easy while providing high levels of performance.
